INVITATION TO THE 4th AUTO MOTO RADUNO INTERNAZIONALE FORZE DI POLIZIA 4th Friuli-Venezia Giulia Trophy. 2d Border-free Cup (I – SLO – A). Udine (I) / Kranjska Gora (SLO) / Villach (A) /Tarvisio (I) / Trieste (I) 2 - 5 September 2004
In view of the success of earlier editions, which saw the participation of not only the Italian police forces, but also those of Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia and Hungary, the AutoClub Nazionale delle Forze di Polizia (the National Police Forces Auto Club) and the municipal authorities of Trieste are again working together for the realisation of the 4th edition of this event, to be held from 2 to 5 September. Adopting the already tried and tested formula used in the past, two quite distinct yet linked events will be proposed. The first, the International Car and Motor Bike Meet is reserved for Italian and foreign police forces (military police, state police, finance police, municipal police forces, prison police forces, the corps of foresters, fire brigade and armed forces) on permanent service and in which teams from the various forces can participate in uniform (but unarmed) in motor vehicles and on motorcycles used for the daily implementation of their service. The second event – the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Trophy – is reserved for classic cars. Owners of classic police cars and classic road cars may participate. The contents and the spirit pervading these events, therefore ensures that there is a sense of continuity with recent editions which we can qualify now as an “institutional event” of international interest, and which this administration supports with the greatest enthusiasm. This for a number of reasons. On the one hand, we cannot forget that, on the 1st May, Slovenia will join the European Union, and the International Police Force Car and Motor Bike Meet will underline the spirit of “the public’s Police” and of “Peace amongst peoples” which has now consolidated and in more than just a theoretical manner. On the other, for the city of Trieste, this is an even more special year than usual, with a long series of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the return of the city to Italy. We have therefore requested the patronage of the President of the European Parliament, the Ministry of the Interior of the Italian Republic, the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the provinces of Udine and Trieste and the municipalities of Udine and Tarvisio. The National Police Forces Auto Club, which is responsible for the technical organisation, is doing everything to ensure the successful outcome of the events and will therefore reserve accommodation for two people (if with a car) or one person (if with a motorbike) for 4 days (3 nights) from Thursday 2 September 2004 in a hotel (excluding extras) or in a police barracks. It is pointed out that the cars and/or motorbikes must not be prepared for racing. Moreover, participants are asked to wear their service uniforms during the evening meal. The broad outlines of the events, subject to modification, are as follows:
- Thursday 2 September 2004: arrival of participants in Udine and meeting with the authorities. - 1st stage, Udine/ Cividale del Friuli/ entry into Slovenia, Kranjska Gora / Villach (A) / Arnoldstein (A)/Tarvisio (I). - 2nd stage, Tarvisio - Tolmezzo – Udine – Gorizia – Trieste – - 3rd stage, Trieste / Trieste.
Thanking you for your participation in past editions, we ask you to note that applications for the new edition must, for logistical and organisational reasons, reach the secretary of the Autoclub by and no later than 20 June 2004. With our best regards.
